FAQ
What is specialty coffee?
Specialty coffee refers to high-quality coffee that is carefully cultivated, harvested, and roasted to highlight its distinct flavor characteristics. It typically receives a score of 80 points or higher on the coffee quality rating scale used by industry professionals.
What makes coffee “specialty”?
Coffee is considered specialty when it meets certain criteria, such as high-quality beans, proper harvesting and processing methods, and skilled roasting. These factors all contribute to a coffee’s unique flavor profile and high overall quality.
What is single-origin coffee?
Single-origin coffee is sourced from a specific geographic region or farm rather than being a blend of beans from multiple locations. This results in a distinct flavor profile that reflects the unique characteristics of the area where the coffee was grown.
What is the difference between specialty coffee and regular coffee?
Specialty coffee is typically grown, harvested, and processed with greater care and attention to detail than regular coffee. This results in a higher-quality bean with a more complex and nuanced flavor profile.
What is the difference between light and dark roast coffee?
Light roast coffee is roasted for a shorter time and at a lower temperature compared to dark roast coffee, resulting in a lighter body and acidity, as well as more nuanced flavors. Dark roast coffee is roasted for a longer time at a higher temperature, producing a stronger, more intense flavor and a darker color.
What is a coffee subscription?
A coffee subscription is a regular delivery service providing fresh, high-quality coffee customized to your taste preferences... Did someone say discount? Yes, subscription memebers get 10% off monthly.
How long do coffee beans stay fresh?
Coffee beans are best enjoyed within 2-4 weeks of being roasted, as their flavor and aroma can start to diminish over time. It's important to purchase coffee in small quantities and only grind the amount needed for each brewing session to preserve freshness.
